Workshop with Q&A at Anarchist Bookfair: Autonomy – women, race & immigration

Saturday 7 October 2023 1-2.30 pm, Zilkha Auditorium in the Whitechapel Gallery, 77-82 Whitechapel High St, London E1 7QX. Aldgate East underground. Wheelchair accessible.

In 1982 the Wages for Housework Campaignorganised the first conference in the UK on women, race and immigration. Insisting on our right to be here is even more urgent now. Discussion with Selma James, who wrote Strangers & Sisters, an account of that historic conference, All African Women’s Group and Global Women Against Deportations – all based at Crossroads Women’s Centre

The Global Women’s Strike is also having a book stall at the Bookfair, 11am-5pm, at RICH MIX 35-47 Bethnal Green Road E1 6LA. We would be glad to see you there too.  (Shoreditch High St overground station).
